“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. Our interpretation of physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.”

JOSEPH PILATES

The Pilates Method is a method of exercise that lengthens, strengthens, and tones the whole body, with a focus on core muscles, without adding bulk. It corrects poor posture, fixes bad backs, realigns the whole body and can add inches to your height. Pilates also improves flexibility, coordination and overall health. Men, women, athletes, office workers, new mothers, the physically active, the newly active, people recovering from injuries, people of all ages, shapes and sizes have all experienced the health benefits from practicing pilates.

BEGINNER SPRINGS

PILATES TOWER
Beginner

Most conventional workouts tend to build short, bulky muscles more prone to injury–especially in the body of an older adult. Pilates focuses on building a strong “core”–the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight-bearing. It also can positively affect postural positions. This class will focus on the beginner Tower practice; strengthening, lengthening and helping improve posture and balance with the use of the Pilates Tower Apparatus Springs for beneficial resistance training with no impact on the joints! This class is 40-minutes in length and performed on the Pilates Tower.
